Rugby League Live 3 is in development at Big Ant
Studios, and is due out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox
360, and Steam in 2015, publisher Tru Blu Entertainment has revealed.
A sequel to 2012's Rugby League Live 2, Rugby League Live 3 once again makes use of the National Rugby League license to deliver what Big Ant's managing director Sebastian Giompaolo describes as "the ultimate video game experience of the Greatest Game of All, Rugby League."
It features an improved career mode that lets you take a player through the U20 ranks and, ultimately, into a professional squad, complete with all 2014/2015 rules changes and up-to-date 2015 rosters and uniforms. Instant replays, online play, and tackling have all been improved, and the game introduces a new experience system for player profiles. A dynamic day/night and weather system includes realistic sun movement, dusk to night progress, and mid-game rain.
Over 100 teams are featured in Rugby League Live 3, from worldwide competitions including the NRL, Super League, Toyota Cup, and more. On top of that, custom teams and players can be created with the FanHub tool, which is available to download now from Steam.
“The NRL are proud to be again associated with Tru Blu Entertainment in bringing to market the most anticipated Rugby League video game to date,” said Paul Kind, NRL Head of Commercial. “Rugby League Live 3 introduces many elements of Rugby League never before seen in an NRL video game. It is indeed a must-have for any footy fan!”
