Microsoft announced today that the Xbox One managed to push a victory on
December’s NPD figures for the second month in a row, and of course
Microsoft’s executives are elated, but they don’t lose track of wider
goals.
Head of Xbox Division Phil Spencer expressed his appreciation for the great work done by the team and mentioned the bet made on the Xbox’s software teams, both for hardware and software:
He also mentioned that the most important thing is that the Xbox fanbase decided to stick with the brand, but didn’t forget the fact that there’s more work that needs to be done.
Most interestingly, Spencer also recognized that despite the victory in the US, it’s important for the brand to focus on the worldwide market.
There was also room for sportsmanship, as he recognized that the PS4 is also selling well, commenting on how high console and game sales across the board are good for the whole industry.
Xbox Games Marketing Lead Aaron Greenberg expressed his gratitude for the support by the fans, and predicted a great year for gamers:
