PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U Lifetime Sales – December 2014 Update - PS4 18.5M, Xbox One 10.99M

Looking at the total sales of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U in December shows how the PlayStation 4 has continued to grow its lead over the Xbox One and Wii U. Also how the Xbox One price cut helped boost sales past the Wii U.
The PlayStation 4 passed the 18 million mark this month, the Xbox One passed the 10 million mark and the Wii U has passed the eight million mark. The PS4 has sold 18.50 million units lifetime, the Xbox One 10.99 million units, and the Wii U 8.95 million units.

The PlayStation 4 has outsold both the Xbox One and Wii U every month since its release 14 months ago. The Xbox One outsold the Wii U in December for the sixth straight month. The PS4 outsold the Xbox One by 920,104 units for the month and the Wii U by 2.06 million. The Xbox One outsold the Wii U by 1.14 million units. The PS4 sold 3.20 million units in December, the Xbox One 2.28 million units, and the Wii U 1.15 million units.
When you compare monthly sales to a year ago all three consoles are up year-over-year. The PlayStation 4 is up 907,810 units, the Xbox One is up 769,584 units and the Wii U is up 5,763 units.

The Wii U beat the PS4 and Xbox One to the market by a year. The Wii U launched in November 2012, while the PS4 and Xbox One launched in November 2013.
