Industry veterans behind major franchises such as
Battlefield, Medal of Honor, and Lost Planet have formed a new studio
called Fugitive Games, it was announced on Monday. Based in Santa
Monica, California, the four-man studio is at work on its first project,
an ambitious-looking open-world "space survival sim" called Into the
Stars for PC and Mac.
The
game, which will feature an original score from Mass Effect and Call of
Duty composer Jack Wall, is already well into development. Fugitive
Games is now looking to secure $85,000 on Kickstarter to finish the project for a release in July 2015.
Into
the Stars has you taking on the role of a Captain who soars through the
solar system in a ship called Ark 13 in search of a "new home for
humanity." You'll outfit your ship, choose a crew, and scavenge
resources on your journey. You'll do all of this while also
simultaneously fighting an evil alien force that is constantly pursuing
you.

In all, Into the Stars features 90 zones to explore, Fugitive Games says. The game features a final destination to reach, but the manner in which you get there, navigating through the open world, is up to you.
