The ESRB has gotten their hands on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires, which you can preorder right now with this page on Amazon. As expected, the newest iteration of Dynasty Warriors 8 got the same Teen rating found in the prior releases. One of the most amusing stuff mentioned in the rating summary are female characters wearing skimpy outfits that “expose large amounts of cleavage and/or buttocks.” There are also some “jiggle” physics as well. You can read that part of the description below this paragraph:
During the course of the game, some female characters are depicted in outfits that expose large amounts of cleavage and/or buttocks; their breasts sometimes jiggle while jumping and performing attacks.
Aside from those suggestive parts, Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires is your typical T-rated hack-and-slasher as there are cries of pain even though you won’t be seeing any blood or dismemberment:
This is a tactical action game in which players assume the role of warriors battling for control of ancient China. Players engage in hack-and-slash combat with hordes of enemy soldiers using swords, spears, crossbows, hammers, and bladed weapons. Battles are highlighted by sword-slashing effects, impact sounds, and cries of pain; enemies collapse to the ground when killed.
Last but not least, the ESRB also had an issue with some alcohol references in the dialogue:
The game also contains several alcohol references in the dialogue (e.g., “His love for wine and drink more often than not led to his defeat in battle”; “I propose we finish off any barrel of wine we can find in the castle.”).
Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires is also coming to the PlayStation 3 and PC along with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The videogame will be released on consoles first on the 24th of February and then a little bit later for the PC on the 27th of February.
